Samantha Saville
DONA trained Birth Doula
Meet Sam
Samantha Saville is a DONA trained Birth Doula who has been part of the doula community since March of 2024. She is working toward her certification as a doula and aims to complete the process this summer. Although born in Colorado, she moved to Midland in her early childhood and has lived here majority of the time since. She attended Wichita State University in Kansas, where she met her husband and in 2022 graduated with a degree in psychology and American Sign Language, in which she is fluent.
In 2022 she and her husband Bradley welcomed their first born into the world and moved back to Midland in 2023. While Samantha has always had a passion for women and their voice in the healthcare system, her labor and delivery of their first born is what set her on the path toward becoming a doula. After having their second born in 2023, she felt the urge and saw the opportunity to make this passion a reality.
With two very different labor and delivery experiences of her own, Samantha seeks to encourage women in their own personal stories and reassure them that birth looks different for everyone. As God’s will is carried out regardless of the outcome, it is her firm belief that here is no such thing as failure in birth. On top of this, Samantha believes a birth story does not have to be something that happens to you, but an experience that parents have a choice in and can be looked back on with joy and gratitude.
While relatively new at this profession, Samantha has a great deal of experience and has attended over 30 births, 20 of which she has attended as lead doula. She has learned a great deal from each of these different experiences as they have ranged from home birth, to birth center, to hospital and from natural delivery to epidural to cesarean.
Outside of being a doula, Samantha loves spending time with her husband and two boys, as well as reading, painting, yoga, and listening to podcasts. She also is passionate about marriage ministry and worship and serves in both areas at her home church.
Being a part of the Midland Doula Collective, Samantha loves serving families through pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum support and offers services whether at home, hospital or birth center.
